Barrio Pastores ("Shepherds' Quarter") is a Vino de Pueblo from the parajes of Montote and Mazaterón in the village of Aldeanueva de Ebro. It is produced from very old organically-farmed Garnacha planted on Rupestris du Lot rootstocks in clay loam. The whole clusters are foot-trodden in used open-top French barrels without inoculation or temperature control. The resulting wine does 11 months of further élevage in a large wood cask before bottling. 2000 bottles.
