El Lance is the second of two red "village wines", the other being 7 Fuentes. In this bottling, the blend is slightly more homogeneous. Listán Negro is still the protagonist, but Castellana Negra plays a larger role alongside newcomer Vijariego Negro. Alcoholic fermentation is in concrete and malolactic is split between concrete and 500L oak. A further nine months of aging takes place in 80% oak barrel and 20% concrete.
